The Superintendent is responsible for managing the day-to-day field production activities of assigned projects to ensure they are completed on schedule, under budget and within specified quality of workmanship required by project owner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES under minimal supervision of General Superintendent the responsibilities include the following:
Jobsite – Manages jobsite activities including sign in, COVID – 19 protocols, site safety, load in and out direction, parking, ect.
Daily Reports – Completes and sends out a daily report of all job site activity including any change events, delays, challenges along with proposed solutions.
1. Scheduling Sub Contractors – Including self-perform the work and ensuring scheduling reflects meeting or exceeding the targeted completion date – coordinating weekend/holiday work if required. (25%)
2. Managing Sub Contractor work, perform ongoing quality checks throughout the life of the project, completes Daily Reports for Internal & External use for the following elements:
a. Demo Phase
- Ensures safety of MEP’s
b. Building Back Phase – schedules & supervises work of:
- Framers (Steel stud and Wood)
- Painting/Wall Covering
- Doors and Glazing System
- Fire Safety, when applicable
- Low Voltage
- Other misc. Trade work.
c. Complete Project Punch List
- Final Quality Check of all work
d. Clean up & demobilization activities
3. Inspections (5%)
a. Conducts Client Walk-thrus & Progress Meetings
b. Performs safety inspections
c. Meets with Building Inspectors and ensures all necessary project information or documentation is provided to pass inspection(s) within schedule
4. Ensures receipt of stamped drawings and appropriate insurance certificates. (2%)
5. Attend monthly Superintendent Meetings. (2%)
6. There will be other duties assigned as operational need arises or client/project needs change.
SAFETY: Checks in all personnel on jobsite each day and follows the COVID -19 protocls Performs Daily safety walks, completes safety checklist, maintains safety records in Job Office for additional unannounced inspections. Facilitates weekly safety meetings with subcontractor’s foreman. Reports all accidents to office immediately but no longer than within 4 hours.
Conducts weekly tail gate talks with all subcontractors on job site.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two to Three years’ experience in retail and/or commercial construction.
• Basic computer skills including Email, Text Messaging, Calendar applications on smart phones, tablets or laptops.
• Familiarity with Raken, for project reporting, software is highly desirable. Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel will be useful.
• Familiarity with Procore is preferred.
• Valid OSHA 10 certification is preferred.
• CPR certification is highly desirable.
• Valid Government I.D.
• Basic blueprint reading and understanding.
• Good time management skills.
• Ability to work under stress and competing priorities.
• Ability to perform layout thus identifying drawing discrepancies.
• Desire to maintain a clean jobsite.
• Must be willing to take the initiative at all times.
• Must be able to work independently.
Ability to read and interpret emails, submittals, packing slips, meeting minutes, inspection reports, and correction notices. Ability to create email correspondence to articulate clear goals, quality of work concerns, job progress, or delays. Adapting template to create field work orders. Articulates and understands the scope of work for each assigned project. Ability to effectively respond to questions from subcontractors, field staff, and Project Managers and Clients.
Ability to apply concepts such as addition, subtractions, multiplications, dimensions, linear footage, square footage/yardage, elevations, production rates, ratios, and percentages (basic take-offs). Ability to convert measurements from metric to standard. Identifies discrepancies in measurements in drawings and plans.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time, climb stairs and ladders, kneel and squat at a construction jobsite. Ability to use hands to type, hold tape measurement, texting. Feels level-5 dry wall to determine roughness or smoothness; reach with hands and arms. Talks or hears for smoke alarms, fire alarms, verbal conversations under noisy conditions, etc. Occasionally carry and/or move objects up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Projects may require weekend and/or holiday shifts.
